the title is : Managing Your Expectations
and Pastor Kong went to explain the story in a simple and understandable version.
Pastor Kong used this verse to explain the title.
But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.-Matthew 13:8 NKJV
i shall not reveal too much of what Pastor Kong wrote. i shall list down my points instead.
take note i Bold the word "some"
it set me thinking. yes it is true. we should manage our expectations, setting our expectations to a realistic standard. as i was reading through, studies and exams came into my mind. i should study hard for my exams, however, for what i sow i shall reap. faith without work is dead too. how much faith and work i sowed is how much i would expect in return. some people don't bother to study hard, yet during exams they prayed hard for God to come true to them. it won't happen, at least majority of it won't happen. this is because they haven't play by the rule.
my expectations of my result is believing God will do the rest, when i really did my best. for the past it is, in the future it will be as well.
My favourite line til today : [I will do my best, and God will do the rest]
what Pastor Kong wrote that printed a great impression into my mind is, "Disappointment is never based on what you find, but upon what you expect to find." i should always manage my expectations in everyday life, by asking, "Is this expectation of mine realistic?"
Lord, i commit my exams and projects into your hands. Lord i invite you into my revisions, i pray that i can rely on your strength, determination and wisdom. Lord, pull me through this major exams like you pulled me through those minor ones. For in your eyes, it shall be the same. amen :D
{p/s: i just wanna post my thoughts out, nothing really personal.}
